2025 SPRING CLEAN
Led by Students, Lifted by Community
In 2025, The Perennial Project reached a defining moment: our students weren’t just participating—they were leading. From coordinating volunteer crews to mapping planting sites and mentoring younger peers, Brownsville’s youth took full ownership of the movement they helped create.
This year’s cleanup was the most organized, most ambitious, and most inspiring to date. Student-led teams oversaw logistics, design, communications, and community outreach—expanding beautification efforts to more blocks, more neighborhoods, and more neglected spaces than ever before.
With the continued expansion of our perennial flower planting initiative, downtown Brownsville bloomed into a vibrant, living landscape of color, resilience, and pride. Residents stepped forward. Businesses pitched in.
This wasn’t just a cleanup. It was a community-wide celebration of what’s possible when young people lead—and when a town believes in its future.
2025 proved that the next generation isn’t waiting for change—they’re making it happen.
And Brownsville? It’s blooming with them.
