2020 SPRING CLEAN
Hope in Full Bloom
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Perennial Project returned in Spring 2020 with more volunteers, greater momentum, and an even stronger sense of purpose. What began the year before as a hopeful experiment had become a community tradition—and we weren’t about to slow down.
Masked, distanced, and determined, students, families, and neighbors showed up to plant even more flowers, clear more overgrown lots, and expand our reach across downtown Brownsville. In a time of isolation, these small acts of care brought connection. In a season of uncertainty, we chose growth.
The blooms were brighter. The hope was stronger. And the movement was unmistakable.
